Responsibilities
- Perform Clinical Duties: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight, and prepare patients for examinations.
- Assist Providers: Support physicians and nurse practitioners during procedures, prepare examination rooms, and sterilize equipment.
- Administer Medications: Under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse or provider, administer injections and medications as prescribed.
- Manage Patient Records: Update and maintain electronic health records (EHR) with precise documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans.
- Patient Communication: Greet patients warmly, answer inquiries, and provide education on medications and post-care instructions.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to hygiene protocols and safety guidelines to maintain a sterile environment.
- Lab Work: Collect and process lab specimens, including blood draws and urinalysis, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical setting preferred.
- Licensure: Active BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Schedule: Must be available to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Skills: Proficiency with electronic health record systems (Epic, AthenaHealth, or similar) is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients or equipment up to 50 lbs, and perform fine motor skills.
