Responsibilities
- Perform accurate vital signs, patient intake, and initial screenings for overnight patients.
- Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures, and treatments as directed.
- Manage and maintain accurate patient charts, ensuring all documentation is timely and compliant with HIPAA regulations.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens and perform EKGs when necessary.
- Administer medications, injections, and immunizations following strict safety protocols.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of examination rooms.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and nursing staff regarding patient status and care plans.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience, preferably in a night shift or hospital setting.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions during the night shift.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License.
