Responsibilities

  • Perform patient vitals, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration, ensuring accuracy and compliance with protocols.
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments during the night shift.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, including drawing blood (phlebotomy) and EKGs.
  • Manage patient intake and scheduling for evening arrivals, ensuring a seamless check-in experience.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Provide patient education regarding medications, diet, and follow-up care.
  • Ensure the exam rooms and equipment are stocked and sanitized for the next day’s operations.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) is required.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a night shift or urgent care environment.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) software.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be available to work rotating night shifts, holidays, and weekends as required.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation.
