Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and minor procedures
- Prepare patients for examinations and take accurate vital signs
- Administer injections and medications under physician supervision
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems and maintain patient confidentiality
- Schedule appointments and handle patient correspondence
- Perform basic laboratory tests and specimen collection
- Explain treatment plans and post-care instructions to patients
- Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and medical equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- No prior medical experience necessary – we provide full training!
- Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program OR willingness to obtain certification within 6 months
- BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Strong communication skills and ability to build patient rapport
- Proficiency with basic computer applications
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
