Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Triage: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and prepare them for examination by collecting medical history and vitals.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and minor office surgeries while maintaining strict sterile techniques.
- Phlebotomy & Lab Work: Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws efficiently and with minimal patient discomfort.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient charts, schedule appointments, process billing, and handle incoming calls with professionalism.
- Medication Management: Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, ensuring accurate dosing and documentation.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) or completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty clinic setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and phlebotomy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy and privacy.
- Reliability: Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or evenings as needed.
