Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by accurately taking vital signs and recording medical histories.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during exams and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as EKGs and urine analysis, and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Manage patient records by updating electronic health records (EHR) and maintaining confidentiality.
- Coordinate patient appointments and manage incoming calls with a professional, patient-centric approach.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and safety standards.
- Administer medications and vaccinations under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent certification required (ARRC, NHA, or AMT).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Previous experience in a clinical or administrative setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software.
