Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist physicians and nurses during patient examinations and procedures.
- Vitals & Intake: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and update medical records.
- Lab Work: Perform basic laboratory tests, phlebotomy, and prepare samples for analysis.
- Admin Support: Schedule appointments, verify patient insurance, and manage front-desk reception duties.
- Medication Prep: Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, following strict safety protocols.
- Infection Control: Maintain a clean, sterile environment and adhere to all HIPAA and safety regulations.
- Communication: Clearly communicate test results and treatment instructions to patients in a friendly, professional manner.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent state licensure required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or clinic setting preferred.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and computer literacy.
- Attributes: Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
