Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by escorting them to the examination room, setting up instruments, and maintaining exam room cleanliness.
- Assist providers during patient visits by taking vital signs, recording medical history, and preparing treatment rooms.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and EKGs as directed by the provider.
- Administer medications, injections, and vaccines following strict safety protocols.
- Manage patient intake, including updating charts, verifying insurance information, and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Answer phone inquiries, schedule appointments, and handle incoming patient messages professionally.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from an accredited institution.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
