Responsibilities
- Perform clinical tasks including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and medication administration
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) with precision and HIPAA compliance
- Schedule appointments, handle insurance verifications, and process billing codes
- Maintain sterile exam environments and inventory of medical supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Coordinate referrals and communicate with specialists as needed
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or Athena preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and OSHA standards
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask efficiently
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred
- Spanish bilingual proficiency strongly desired
