Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians during procedures including injections, wound care, and EKGs
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems with precision and confidentiality
- Perform phlebotomy and basic lab tests with strict adherence to safety protocols
- Schedule appointments, handle insurance verification, and process billing forms
- Maintain sterile exam environments and inventory of medical supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or experience preferred)
- Excellent phlebotomy and venipuncture skills
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Valid California MA certification or willingness to obtain immediately
