Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures, including patient examinations, injections, and wound care
- Perform vital signs measurement, EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic lab tests
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and manage inventory of medical supplies
- Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and preventive care
- Coordinate patient flow and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
- Handle administrative duties including scheduling, insurance verification, and billing support
Qualifications
- Graduate from accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or multi-specialty setting
- Current BLS/CPR certification and Ohio state MA registration
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or NextGen preferred)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Valid Ohio driver's license and reliable transportation
