Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and current medications.
- Assist providers during clinical procedures, including minor surgeries and diagnostic tests.
- Perform basic laboratory tests (e.g., urine analysis, blood draws) and prepare specimens.
- Maintain strict infection control and sterilization standards for medical equipment.
- Manage and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) accurately and confidentially.
- Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
- Coordinate patient follow-ups and schedule appointments efficiently.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician's office or clinic setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
