Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, medical history, and symptoms.
- Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures, ensuring patient comfort.
- Perform venipuncture, EKGs, and other basic clinical duties as required.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens accurately and in compliance with safety protocols.
- Maintain and update patient medical records in the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Provide patient education and answer questions regarding medications and treatment plans.
- Manage the front desk flow, including scheduling appointments and handling check-ins.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA) or graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong focus on patient satisfaction.
- Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends.
