Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, medical history, and updating patient records in the EHR system.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures; perform basic laboratory tests, EKGs, and spirometry.
- Administrative Duties: Manage front desk reception duties, schedule appointments, and handle patient inquiries efficiently.
- Medication Management: Prepare medications for distribution under provider supervision and assist with medication reconciliation.
- Follow-up: Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and referrals to specialists.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to sterilization and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification.
- Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting.
- Skills: Proficiency with EMR/EHR software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment up to 50 lbs.
