Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration, and accurately document findings in the EMR.
- Greet patients, verify demographics, and prepare them for examination rooms.
- Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures, and patient education.
- Prepare and administer medications and injections as directed by providers.
- Manage inventory, restock exam rooms, and ensure compliance with sterilization and infection control protocols.
- Coordinate follow-up appointments and communicate with insurance providers regarding authorizations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors at all times.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required; graduation from an accredited program preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification (if applicable to specialty).
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician's office or outpatient setting is highly preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs when assisting patients.
