Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake and vitals (blood pressure, temperature, weight, etc.) accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting providers and ensuring privacy and comfort.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians and licensed nurse practitioners.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, including urine analysis and blood draws, and prepare specimens for processing.
- Update and maintain patient medical records and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Provide patient education on disease prevention, medication management, and follow-up care.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office or clinic setting preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) software.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment as needed.
