Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during medical procedures
- Accurately document patient histories and clinical information in EMR systems
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, and phlebotomy services
- Administer injections and medications as per physician orders
- Schedule appointments and manage patient correspondence
- Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and sterilize equipment
- Assist with insurance verification and billing documentation
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory setting
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Epic/Meditech preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- Texas state license (if applicable)
