Responsibilities
- Perform clinical duties including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and wound care
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring sterile environments and proper equipment
- Assist providers with procedures and examinations while maintaining patient confidentiality
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) with precision and attention to detail
- Coordinate patient flow and communicate effectively with care teams
- Administer medications and injections under provider supervision
- Handle insurance verification and patient registration processes
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in outpatient or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Tennessee state medical assistant license in good standing
