Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, medical equipment, and supplies
- Perform vital signs measurements, EKGs, and basic laboratory tests
- Manage patient records, electronic health documentation, and appointment scheduling
- Administer medications and immunizations under provider supervision
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with specialists
Qualifications
- Graduate from accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Current CPR certification and BLS certification
- Texas Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA preferred)
- Minimum 1-2 years clinical experience in outpatient or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or experience preferred)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
