Responsibilities
- Conduct Patient Intake: Verify patient information, update medical records, and prepare patients for examinations.
- Vital Signs & Assessments: Accurately measure and record blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist Providers: Support physicians and nurses during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Lab & Procedures: Perform basic lab tests, EKGs, and administer injections as directed by the provider.
- Administrative Support: Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments, handling insurance verification, and processing payments.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to sterilization protocols and health and safety regulations.
- Communication: Effectively communicate test results and follow-up instructions to patients in a clear and compassionate manner.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting preferred.
- Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification must be up to date.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-first approach.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical software.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to handle sensitive patient information with strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
- Flexibility: Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends or holidays as required.
