Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake procedures including vital signs, medical history collection, and documentation
- Assist physicians during examinations, treatments, and minor procedures
- Administer medications and injections under provider supervision
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring sterile environments
- Process laboratory specimens and perform basic diagnostic tests
- Manage patient scheduling and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Coordinate with nursing staff to ensure seamless patient flow
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Current certification as CMA, RMA, or CCMA preferred
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in a hospital setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems and medical software
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in fast-paced environment
