Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Accurately measure vital signs and document patient information in EHR systems
- Prepare exam rooms and sterilize medical equipment following OSHA standards
- Administer injections, perform phlebotomy, and collect laboratory specimens
- Coordinate patient flow and manage appointment schedules efficiently
- Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and preventive care
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and confidentiality protocols
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a hospital or urgent care setting
- Current BLS/CPR certification and Michigan Medical Assistant license
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred) and Microsoft Office
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Flexibility to work rotating weekends and holidays
