Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and administer medications
- Manage patient scheduling, insurance verification, and electronic health records
- Perform basic lab tests and maintain sterile examination environments
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Coordinate referrals and communicate with specialists
Qualifications
- Current California Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication abilities in English and Spanish a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional weekends
