Your Role
As a Medical Assistant, you will be the bridge between our patients and our providers. You will ensure our clinic runs smoothly while providing top-tier care to our community.
Responsibilities
- Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for examinations by taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and explaining procedures.
- Clinical Duties: Assist physicians and providers during exams and minor procedures.
- Laboratory Work: Perform routine lab tests, including phlebotomy (blood draws) and EKGs, following strict safety protocols.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient charts, verify insurance, and handle check-in/check-out processes efficiently.
- Medication Management: Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider and document accurately.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions to patients regarding follow-up care and treatment plans.
- Facility Maintenance:
- Ensure exam rooms and common areas are clean, organized, and sanitized.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA) or equivalent experience.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Teamwork:
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Reliability:
- Valid Georgia driver's license and reliable transportation.
