Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Measure vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and record patient medical histories accurately.
- Assistance: Prepare patients for examinations by assisting physicians and nurses during procedures.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient intake, verify insurance information, and update electronic health records (EHR) efficiently.
- Labs & Tests: Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws (phlebotomy), EKGs, and urine analysis as directed.
- Communication: Explain treatment plans, medication instructions, and post-procedure care to patients and their families clearly.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and clinic protocols to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA or RMA certification from an accredited institution is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Skills: Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) software and medical terminology.
- Interpersonal: Strong customer service skills with the ability to empathize with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Physical: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment as needed.
