Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, verify demographics, and ensure accurate documentation.
- Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and EKGs.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and infection control protocols.
- Assist with front desk duties including scheduling appointments and handling insurance inquiries.
- Collaborate with the nursing staff to ensure continuity of care for all patients.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first mindset.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
- NY State Medical Assistant license in good standing.
