Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including vital signs measurement
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and minor procedures
- Administer medications and injections per physician orders
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic lab tests
- Maintain accurate patient medical records in EHR systems
- Sterilize equipment and maintain clinical supplies inventory
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up appointments
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- California Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in outpatient setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
