Responsibilities
- Review and code medical records using ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines to ensure accurate billing.
- Submit and follow up on claims to insurance carriers (commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid).
- Manage and resolve claim denials and rejections efficiently.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services.
- Prepare and send monthly patient invoices and statements.
- Collaborate with the billing team and healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies.
Qualifications
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., AthenaHealth, Epic, Cerner).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
