Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before services
- Investigate and resolve claim denials and underpayments
- Perform account receivables follow-up and collections
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) and billing software
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance
- Collaborate with clinical staff on documentation accuracy
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience required
- Certification (CPC, CBCS, or similar) strongly preferred
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Expert knowledge of insurance claim processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with EHR systems (Epic or Cerner a plus)
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred
