Responsibilities
- Submit and follow up on insurance claims to ensure timely reimbursement
- Review and code medical services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Resolve claim denials by researching discrepancies and resubmitting appeals
- Manage patient accounts, including billing statements and payment plans
- Communicate with insurance providers and patients regarding billing inquiries
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient and billing documentation
- Generate monthly revenue cycle reports for financial analysis
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate documentation
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field
- 2+ years of medical billing experience required
- Certification (CPC, CMA, or similar) strongly preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Medisoft)
- Expert knowledge of insurance processes and regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
