Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits to ensure claim compliance
- Conduct thorough follow-up on denied or unpaid claims
- Maintain precise documentation of billing transactions and patient records
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve billing discrepancies
- Stay updated on healthcare regulations and coding guidelines (CPT, ICD-10)
- Generate monthly billing reports for financial analysis
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic, Athenahealth, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare regulations
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field
