Responsibilities
- Accurately process medical claims using EHR systems and billing software
- Verify insurance coverage and pre-authorizations for patient services
- Resolve billing discrepancies through direct communication with insurers and providers
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and coding standards (ICD-10, CPT)
- Analyze claim denials and implement corrective actions
- Generate monthly financial reports for departmental review
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with insurance claim processing
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential preferred
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Athenahealth, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of medical coding guidelines and reimbursement methodologies
- Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to manage high-volume claims with strict deadlines
