Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and insurance coverage prior to service delivery
- Resolve billing discrepancies through meticulous follow-up with payers and providers
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and industry coding standards (ICD-10, CPT)
- Generate regular reports on billing performance and denial trends
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation supports billing requirements
- Utilize Epic EMR systems for efficient claim management
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience with insurance claim submission
- Proficiency in medical coding (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with electronic health records (Epic preferred)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
