Job Summary
As a Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of our partner medical practices. You will be responsible for accurately submitting claims, managing patient accounts, and resolving billing discrepancies efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify patient demographics and insurance information for accuracy.
- Submit medical claims to insurance carriers (CMS-1500 form) and follow up on outstanding claims.
- Process denials and appeals with a focus on reducing denial rates.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HIPAA regulations and coding updates.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding billing inquiries and payment plans.
- Utilize EHR systems (Epic, Cerner) to document billing activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Billing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical billing or coding.
- Strong working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Proficiency in billing software and electronic health records (EHR).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a flexible, remote environment.
