Responsibilities
- Verify and process medical insurance claims (CMS-1500 forms) accurately and efficiently.
- Review patient insurance coverage and eligibility to determine benefit limits.
- Communicate with insurance companies and patients to resolve billing inquiries and outstanding balances.
- Update and maintain accurate patient medical records and billing information in the EHR system.
- Identify and correct coding errors or claim denials to ensure maximum reimbursement.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and audits.
- Collaborate with the front desk and clinical staff to ensure seamless patient intake.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn medical billing software and industry regulations.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality.
