Responsibilities
- Verify and submit medical claims to insurance carriers (Blue Cross, Medicare, Medicaid) for timely reimbursement.
- Review patient eligibility and insurance coverage to ensure accurate billing.
- Responsible for posting payments and managing patient accounts receivable.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and appeals.
- Collaborate with the medical coding team to ensure accurate documentation.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) certification is a plus.
- Proven experience with medical billing software (Epic, Cerner, or similar) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and electronic health records.
