Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Verify insurance coverage and pre-authorizations for patient procedures
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on denied or unpaid claims
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to resolve billing discrepancies
- Utilize Epic EHR and billing software for claim processing
- Generate monthly reports on denial rates and collection performance
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical billing regulations
- Experience with EHR systems (Epic preferred) and billing software
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent communication abilities for patient and insurance interactions
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field
