Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to patient services
- Resolve claim denials and rejections through systematic follow-up
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing standards
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation accuracy
- Generate monthly revenue reports for department leadership
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in Epic, EHR, or similar billing software
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurance plans
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage high-volume accounts with competing deadlines
