Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end medical billing cycle, from claims submission to payment collection.
- Review and verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits to ensure accurate coding.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims.
- Resolve complex billing issues and appeal denied claims to maximize revenue.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure documentation supports billing codes.
- Generate and analyze revenue reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Maintain strict compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations (HIPAA, Stark Law).
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Medical Billing, Coding, or Healthcare Administration (or equivalent experience).
- Certification such as CPC, CBCS, or RHIT preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing and claims processing.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner).
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
