Responsibilities
- Greet and Welcome Patients: Provide a warm, professional greeting to patients as they arrive, manage check-in procedures, and ensure accurate data entry into our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Phone Management: Answer incoming calls in a professional manner, screen calls, and redirect them to the appropriate department or provider.
- Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments, manage provider calendars, and send confirmation reminders to reduce no-shows.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and collect copayments or deductibles accurately.
- Administrative Support: Maintain and organize patient files, process incoming mail, and handle general front desk inquiries.
- Collaboration: Work closely with medical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of a medical receptionist program is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical front desk or reception role preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Integrity: Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
