Responsibilities
- Patient Relations: Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, manage check-in procedures, and answer incoming calls with a courteous and helpful demeanor.
- Administrative Support: Manage the front desk operations, including maintaining accurate patient records, filing, and ensuring the reception area is organized and welcoming.
- Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments efficiently using our electronic health record (EHR) system, confirming appointments and managing rescheduling as necessary.
- Insurance Verification: Assist in verifying patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to appointments to ensure smooth billing processes.
- Data Entry: Accurately update patient information, demographics, and medical histories in the practice management system.
- Mail & Communications: Sort and distribute mail, process faxes, and handle incoming correspondence promptly.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a Medical Receptionist program is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical or front-desk administrative role preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with EMR/EHR software (e.g., AthenaHealth, Epic) is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
- Professionalism: Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations strictly.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
