Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and procedures in emergency and urgent care settings
- Perform vital signs assessment, EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR) systems with precision and confidentiality
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain inventory of medical supplies
- Provide patient education on medications, treatment plans, and preventive care
- Coordinate with nursing staff and specialists for seamless patient handoffs
- Respond to after-hours patient inquiries and triage urgent concerns
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year experience in clinical/hospital setting preferred
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Epic/Meditech experience a plus)
- Ability to work independently during night shift hours with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical documentation standards
- Flexibility to cover rotating weekend shifts as needed
