Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments and supplies are prepared and available.
- Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room by strictly adhering to aseptic techniques and sterilization protocols.
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and arrange surgical supplies and instruments for procedures.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition or operating room emergencies.
- Transport patients to and from the operating suite, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Document surgical procedures and accurately count sponges, needles, and instruments to prevent retained items.
- Clean and disinfect operating rooms and equipment after procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of a Surgical Technology program is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level candidates.
- Experience: No prior experience required. We are looking for motivated individuals willing to learn.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and possess good manual dexterity.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team setting.
- Attention to Detail: Keen ability to follow instructions precisely and maintain a high level of accuracy in a critical care environment.
- Availability: Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
