Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and mobility needs, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient status and care plans.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment for patients and staff in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Document patient care activities, changes in condition, and any incidents in the electronic health record system.
- Administer medications as directed by licensed staff and perform basic wound care when necessary.
Qualifications
- Active and current Illinois CNA Certification (state license).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull patients weighing up to 250 lbs safely.
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and a strong work ethic.
