Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Prepare and serve meals according to specific dietary restrictions and patient preferences.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients in accordance with facility protocols.
- Communicate changes in patient condition or mood to the Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse immediately.
- Document patient care activities and updates accurately in electronic health records.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Virginia CNA license required.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or acute care setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
