Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming with dignity and respect.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Prepare patients for medical examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Provide emotional support and clear communication to patients and their families during their stay.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment by following infection control protocols.
- Report any changes in a patient's condition or behavior to the Registered Nurse (RN) immediately.
- Transport patients to and from treatment areas using wheelchairs or stretchers safely.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers certification is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Basic computer literacy for electronic documentation.
