Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with instruments, materials, and equipment, and ensure they are clean, orderly, and ready for patient use.
- Assist the dentist during examination and treatment procedures, passing instruments and materials efficiently.
- Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) as directed by the dentist.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols and sterilization standards in accordance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Manage patient records, update charts, and schedule appointments accurately.
- Greet patients, explain procedures, and ensure a positive patient experience from check-in to check-out.
- Provide post-operative instructions and answer questions regarding oral health care.
Qualifications
- Certification or license as a Dental Assistant in the State of California (RDA or DA).
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Previous experience as a dental assistant is preferred but not required for highly motivated candidates.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and sterilization techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform fine motor skills with precision.
- Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus.
