Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, surgical, and cosmetic treatments
- Perform chairside duties: instrument transfer, suctioning, and patient comfort management
- Execute infection control protocols: sterilization, OSHA compliance, and operatory disinfection
- Manage digital radiography systems and update patient dental records accurately
- Prepare treatment rooms, materials, and equipment for efficient clinical workflows
- Take precise alginate impressions and pour study models for lab cases
- Provide post-procedure instructions and patient education on oral hygiene
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or Texas state license)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography (X-ray) and imaging software
- CPR/BLS certification and OSHA bloodborne pathogen training
- Strong understanding of dental terminology and clinical procedures
- Exceptional patient communication and chairside manner skills
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work evenings and Saturdays (10-20 hrs/week)
