Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and check them in for appointments, ensuring all required forms are completed accurately.
- Prepare examination rooms by sterilizing equipment and organizing necessary medical instruments.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations by handing instruments and providing patient education.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine analysis or blood draws, and prepare samples for processing.
- Update and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) in strict compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate referrals and schedule follow-up appointments for patients.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential required.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office or outpatient setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic, AthenaHealth, or similar) is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
