As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the patient experience, ensuring seamless transitions from check-in to check-out while maintaining the highest standards of medical hygiene and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and accurately update their demographic and insurance information in our EHR system.
- Take vital signs, record patient histories, and prepare patients for examination by providers.
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures, including injections, minor surgeries, and EKGs.
- Perform and process basic laboratory tests, such as urine analysis and blood draws.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure examination rooms are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and communicate effectively with patients regarding test results and follow-up care.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or MA equivalent).
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a busy medical office or clinic setting preferred.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) software, such as Epic or AthenaHealth.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive patient information with absolute confidentiality.
- Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation.
